The Evergreen Community Development Initiative grew out of the MassLNC Development initiative. The MassLNC Development Initiative was founded in 2016 in Massachusetts by the Massachusetts Evergreen consortia who were seeking ways to expand their local collaborative development work. Over the next few years, several consortia across the US and Canada joined the Initiative, growing the opportunities and funding for collaborative development. In 2019 the MassLNC project shuttered, transferring all on-going projects to the ECDI in Indiana.
