It would be really handy to have a configurable automated status update for materials that don’t arrive at their destination by an amount of time selected with an org unit setting.

In plainer language:

Library A puts an item in transit to Library B. If Library B does not receive the item within a selected timeframe, say, 3 weeks, then the item is automatically marked as Lost in Transit.

This would help a lot with reporting, particularly on the fiscal side of materials that go into transit ne’er to be seen again.
