This would be a particularly helpful feature to have developed and available for catalogers as libraries continue to expand their “library of things.” This items/kits generally don’t have images connected to an ISBN or UPC like more traditional circulating items. Currently, in Evergreen Indiana, catalogers have to send a high resolution (hopefully) image through the helpdesk for it to be converted into the requisite sizes and attached to the bibliographic record to display in the OPAC.
A launchpad ticket has been created for this wishlist item. 1787968
I am all for this, as our libraries are adding more and more to their Library of things, they are wanting more and more pictures of those things in the catalog.
I’ve always wanted to be able to do this! Ideally, it will also enable us to manually correct images that are wrong on the vendor’s end.
This would be of interest to us.
This would be of interest to us — our consortium staff currently upload images for local material and sometimes other titles missing images, but this doesn’t come up often enough to be a high priority. (It really would depend on how much it would cost to develop this, and how simple it would be to use.)
