Currently, all workstation settings are managed individually from within the staff client. There is no centralized, administrative interface for viewing or managing all workstation profiles registered on the Evergreen server.
This makes tasks like backing up settings, deploying standard configurations, or cleaning up old profiles impossible or extremely difficult. For example, if an admin wants all circulation desks to have identical receipt templates, they must manually configure each workstation one by one.
The idea is to have a new interface that displays a searchable and sortable list of all workstation names registered in the database (example LIBA-Staff-PC, LIBR-CircDesk1). Admins can see a complete inventory of registered workstations.
The workstation list should include a “Last Used” or “Last Login” timestamp for each profile so Admins can easily identify and delete old, stale, or unused workstation profiles that are cluttering the database.
An “Export” button for each workstation that saves its complete settings configuration to a file (most likely in a JSON structured format) so an admin can back up a workstation’s settings before making changes or troubleshooting. This also provides a manual path for migrating settings.
An “Import” or “Upload” function that allows an admin to select a previously exported settings file and apply it to an existing workstation profile.
