In item status, attempting to add items and/or call numbers fails since the holdings editor tab doesn’t open (browser is set to open tabs and other tabs open from item status)

  1. A silly question, perhaps, but what do these features do? You can’t add an item or call number to an item, so would these just add the call number or item to the item’s bib record? They seem out of place (at least as named) in the item actions.

  2. Yes, you would be adding holdings or call numbers to the item’s bib record. Many libraries have a work flow of adding new holdings to a record by scanning the barcode of a current into item status. An example would be magazines. You receive the new issue, you scan last month’s issue into item status, select add an item and finish cataloging the new issue.
