As of 3.11, you can undelete a MARC record in the staff client, but there is no way to undelete an item.
It would be helpful for support staff to have the ability to undelete an item that was deleted in a less than ideal status for deleting or in error in the staff client

It occurs to me that there is a significant barrier to adding this functionality: we would need to address the potential for duplicate barcodes that could result. I think it is absolutely worth addressing this issue!
The simplest solution would be too block undeletion if a duplicate barcode would result. This would probably be sufficient.
A more robust solution would give folks the chance to view both records and opt into merging them. The resulting record would include the circ history and stats of both items. If this isn’t too complicated to implement it would be great to have.
